Biography

Geoffroy Renaud is a mycoenthusiast which is passionate about regenerative food systems and ecosystem remediation. Holding a master's degree in cultural studies, he founded Mycélium Remédium Mycotechnologies in 2012, the first Montreal initiative to recycle coffee grounds using edible mushrooms.


The society he founded supports circular urban agriculture projects by upcycling waste through mushrooms. The FNG.Fungi division produces mushroom extracts for natural health products certified by Health Canada, which are distributed to several North American companies.


Currently a PhD candidate in biological sciences at the University of Montreal, Geoffroy specializes in fungal metrology, aiming to develop tools to measure fungal activities. He conducts his research at the Laur Laboratory of the Institute for Plant Biology Researches and advocates for collaboration with fungi to address current environmental challenges.
